badger badger badger snaaaaake
badger: funny story, starts off talking about a lady that can't figure out how to use microsoft word - (we ALL know that person, check out this insanity from where I work, which is incidentally an incredibly large pet peeve of mine, I actually reformatted this 15 page document and emailed it back to the person who apparently immediately deleted it from their inbox without a glance) - before spiralling into madness :)

MAKE THE PIE HIGHER
by George W. BushI think we all agree, the past is over.
This is still a dangerous world.
It's a world of madmen and uncertainty
and potential mental losses.
Rarely is the question asked
Is our children learning?
Will the highways of the Internet become more few?
How many hands have I shaked?
They misunderestimate me.
I am a pitbull on the pantleg of opportunity.
I know that the human being and the fish can coexist.
Families is where our nation finds hope, where our wings take dream.
Put food on your family!
Knock down the tollbooth!
Vulcanize society!
Make the pie higher! Make the pie higher!

grayson
this incredible director has shot a trailer for a non existent movie that is not only the best "hollywood" trailer I've seen in ages, but also for a movie I'd actually like to see. it boggles my mind that they were able to create a trailer without a movie. the director plays the title role and amazingly enough cast the other main, presumably unpaid, characters very well also, the total budget being $18K. view the grayson trailer here, it's really worth the d/l!

jendhi always finds the coolest shite, especially this site b3ta zoo. I LOVE this kind of thing, everybody got these email forwards for "free dog needs new home, freaks out the wife" and "cat needs new home..." and somethingawful got into the action with this at times somewhat scary rendition of animal anomalies (just get past the first couple pages, it's totally worth it, wait for the monkey, pg5), but now there's a site dedicated to it! hummus yay!

You know what chicks really dig? Armpits.
Not normal armpits, silly. Giant, wooly armpits the size of miniature ponies that have weird stubby legs with three (?) bubbly round Play-Doh toes apiece, huge walking armpits with no head and no arms and no genitalia and no discernable reason for existing other than to spread their creepy and disturbing image far and wide in the weirdest and least appealing ad campaign since those cute constipated animated bears hawked Cottonelle toilet paper on TV.
thompson
I don't even get too crazy over cats usually - I mean - you know what I mean - but this is, I have to agree, the best cat in the world! I mean does it get any cuter than thompson? I think I even like the lion cut better than normal. uh oh I better run, I think muddy and belle are planning something evil for me - it was your mommy's fault! she sent me the link!

my new favorite blog
one of the cruel sites of the day was "Bullies Never Prosper": The reason Google exists: So you can look up the person who tormented you in junior high school and discover that she lives a squalid life "in a trailer park in Rancho Cordova." intrigued I read the entry - cruel's synopsis was a little misleading! little digging, front page, cute cat, oh he's dead :( cute name, oh how to get fired with only a felt tip pen? yes please! wow she can draw! hmm why I'm not a wedding planner: The Ex-Boyfriend Table: I want to invite every single one of my ex boyfriends, and seat them all at the same round table, so they all have to spend the reception staring at one another. I am deeply enthralled with the idea of them all glumly saying, "So. dj'ya do'er?" "Yup." "Huh. Good steak, huh?" "Yeah, it's okay." "...Yep." "Watch out for the Wesson oil on your chair, dude." hilarious! what else... dirty picture found in our driveway ... I could stay here all day!

to blog or not to blog
after reading about the anonymous washingtonienne's blog that caused a riot at her workplace I keep coming back to the same question, why can't we keep a blog and keep a job too?
there was the microsoft employee that was fired for posting pictures of his office receiving apple computers, ok posting pictures, microsoft policy...
there was the guy that sent me a million emails to my work and personal addresses and posted them HIMSELF in the comments on my blog before calling my boss threatening something if they weren't removed. my boss not wanting to deal with the headache had me remove them.
there have been lots of people losing lots of jobs over blogs, too many to chronicle for their individual reasons but it seems unjust, are companies putting "no blogging" in their handbooks yet?
jon stewart is so funny
and jendhi always finds the best stuff: from his william and mary commencement speech:
Lets talk about the real world for a moment. We had been discussing it earlier, and I…I wanted to bring this up to you earlier about the real world, and this is I guess as good a time as any. I don’t really know to put this, so I’ll be blunt. We broke it.
Please don’t be mad. I know we were supposed to bequeath to the next generation a world better than the one we were handed. So, sorry.

who knew?
dell has come out with their own 15 and 20GB mp3 player that plays up to 16 hours of continuous music. that has the ipod beat battery wise. according to one review, the dell is entering an already crowded market. technically yes, but that market includes my clie that only holds as much music as my memory card which is 128MB. if you're in the market for an ipod, you're in the market for a dell (or nomad or rca). until recently the only other mp3 player in the GB heavy weight category was the ugly archos, that'll never sell ;)
this is great
the infinite cat project, I think I'll submit a picture of digger and bailey looking at the last picture of a cat looking at the monitor and see if it'll get accepted. it can't be anyworse than the 9th picture where the cat is obviously being held to the desk!

trunk monkey
despite thinking onstar is a win on a slippery slope for big brother, cruel.com uses it to set up the suburban trunkmonkey so well: "Though it's great that OnStar can unlock a car to free a child and notify authorities when you've been in an accident, I want a car accessory that can dispense a righteous beating." heh heh heh

hellboy, my latest obsession

after splurging like crazy yesterday and getting myself the tim biskup helper AND the roman dirge halfsies (which I ended up getting on ebay because they were all gone from the stores they were to be sold at including hot topic where the girl who answered the phone said in the most extreme valley girl accent I have ever heard, joking or not, oh-my-gawd I TOTALLAY know what you're talking abooout! no we don't have them.) I started surfing for hellboy toys! and why not heh heh. a quick search turned up action figures of varying detail based on ron pearlman's likeness (whatever) but only the following based on the likeness of the incredibly drawn comic: released in 2001 limited edition (750) resin nodder head sculpted by Beverly Gilroy and designed by Mike Mignola and this playmobil set. cool right? don't get your hopes up and try to get one, it's not on ebay, there's only one belonging now and deservedly so to creator Mike Mignola. made by this guy in sweden who painstakingly made them from existing playmobil pieces. so cool.

new dog bed
since the sneak is an above average chewer, we've lost 5 dog beds. 2 digger had before bailey came along, 1 we got for bailey in the beginning, 1 replacement bed for digger and the replacement bed we got for bailey is barely more than a piece of material on the carpet that they share. each night we'd come home to, in the beginning, bite size pieces of foam everywhere, the covers dragged out into the driveway, and lately, batting everywhere and holes in the covers too big to hold in the restuffed batting. since no one I know has a dog, lemme tell you, dog beds are major bucks. but my hunting uncle turned me on to cabela's, which has this bed for only $24. it's huge and I can't wait to show the lil guys their new place to sleep. but first I'm going to douse it in chew-stop!

*shakes head and comes back to reality*
yeah so friendster is fun! go sign up 'n stuff!
neil armstrong - the awful truth
"In 1969, Neil Armstrong made history by becoming the first man to walk on the moon, uttering the immortal phrase, "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." Or did he? Previously suppressed footage discovered by blogjam shows that Armstrong's reaction was a great deal more uninhibited than history suggests, and that a hasty editing job was needed to prepare the astronaut's moment of glory for broadcast."

I picked olive with red trim and a red "d" - I can't friggen wait!
and last week mike and I joined a small gym right by where we work that just opened like 6 mos ago. we got a steal on the membership, it's brand new, no one there, I'm so happy to be working out again -- it's perfect. they also having tanning for $7 each or $50 a month (ouch!) but hey, they don't have a website!
