comic con 2004

I'm SO excited my dad is flying into LAX tomorrow on my bday to see the new house and hang for a couple days before we drive him up to his twin sister's so he can be on his merry way to gasquet but I'm missing comic con!!!
just a smathering of all the cool stuff that will be happening with out me:

Lecture: Friday July 23rd 5:00-6pm Room 7B
Pervasive Art: Gary Baseman
Award-winning artist Gary Baseman blurs the line between high and low art, discussing how the artist can maneuver into any medium, as long as they maintain the integrity of the esthetic and meaning of their art, whether film, television, print, gallery shows, advertising and consumer products.  

Critterbox Booth (#4515):  3-4:00pm Friday, 12 noon-1pm Saturday and Sunday
Baseman will be signing his Dumb Luck RETRO White version (only 50 available at the Con) See the big 12” Dunces and the NEW Pulp Dunce.
Introducing Hotchachacha, a little devil that steals halos from angels. No one in Heavan is safe! And Surprises, flying in from Taiwan. Hint: FWB.

Super 7 Booth (#4623): Saturday 2-3pm
Neo-Kaiju Project-Group Signing, featuring Tim Biskup, Seonna Hong, Todd & Kathy Schorr and Gary Baseman.
See prototypes of the toys & get your hands on Comic-Con exclusive versions. Also be the first to get your limited edition “Infinity Girl” silk screen print, signed and numbered.

Dark Horse Booth (#2715): Sunday 3-3:30pm
Baseman will be on hand to support lil’Timmy (Biskup) who will be signing his new book “100 paintings” that Baseman wrote the introduction.. Check out the Baseman’s Black Cat journal and stationary set.

Flopdoodle Booth (#4523 - shared with Gama-Go):
- TB signings at 2pm-3pm, Thursday & Friday. (Scroll down for other signings)
  - Brand new "It for you." mini-card set will be available. 10 x business card sized reproductions of paintings from the "Jackson 500" series. These will be given out free with certain purchases. Edition of 1000, first 100 are initialed & numbered.
  - The second toy in the “Alphabeast” toy series, “Calli”, will be premiered. The first edition is black vinyl with silver stripes. Edition of 200 numbered toys in a custom printed bag & box. (This toy will be available from Flopdoodle.com on July 21st, opening day of the Comic-Con.)
  - There will also be an exclusive Comic-Con only edition. The signed & numbered edition of only 30 unpainted glow-in-the-dark toys will be individually decorated by Tim. (These toys will be sold in limited numbers each day so we don’t run out too early.)
  - Lots of original artwork will be made available. Tim has painted a series of 21 tiny paintings that are priced for the budget-minded! There will also be a few larger paintings & several original drawings.
  - We’ll have a generous supply of sold out editions available. Tired of searching for your own copy of the original “Helper” print? We’ve got one! Several artist’s proofs will also be available. A few framed prints will be on display & for sale.
  - Other out of print stuff will be available in limited numbers. “Lucky Stack” poker decks, “Space Totem” artist’s proofs, “Helper” Circus Punks & blue vinyl Flopdoodle exclusive toys are a few highlights. There’s LOTS more!
  - Our brand new Japanese capsule toy machine will be in full effect. The main content will be “Stack Pack” toys (sold in their intended format!). Some capsules will contain hidden prizes! These bonuses include original artwork, rare toy prototypes, sketches & ???

Gama-Go Booth (#4523 - shared with Flopdoodle):
  - The full line of Gama-Go Clothing & accessories will be represented & available to buy.
  - A limited edition Comic-Con Exclusive Deathbot tee shirt will be available.
  - New limited edition print “Monkey Stalkbot” will be available for purchase (free with certain purchases!)
  - Previews of Gama-Go toys other new stuff!
