the great ebay scandal
did you know you can retract bids? and that people are creating dummy accounts to drive up the price of their auctions? if you see someone trying to outbid you and they are new or have little or no feedback, don't get into a bidding war, let 'em have it.
I found a domo-kun on ebay, being sold by colorcomputercases (19). along comes former_supra_owner (0) who drove up the price until they were the high bidder but then retracted their highest bid. the "winner" gets stuck with an artifical and unwarranted huge ending price. makes you rethink the next time you put in your maximum amount doesn't it, there's something to be said for bid sniping!

Posted by: jendhi at April 13, 2004 02:46 AMthat's not cool at all, and i hate to sound like an idiot, but who can do that and get away with it w/o feeling remotely guilty? if i get the wrong change at a store, i totally have to give it back. i immediately go into this anxiety of, "they wont' balance their drawer", "they'll get fired", "they'll loose their ability to support a family".......
ok no more coffee for me this morning
Posted by: claudia at April 13, 2004 07:25 AMWell, I do it all the time. It's the American way. You know, make money and just donīt think where it's coming from.
